Frequently Asked Questions

What are your fees?

Hourly rate: Individual Sessions – (Harmony) $160; (Kris) $150; Family sessions – $175

The client is responsible for the fees at the time of the service, unless otherwise arranged. Sliding scale rate is available as needed.

Do you take insurance?

We are not affiliated with any insurance companies and are considered out-of-network providers. If you want to use your insurance, you will need to contact your insurance company before our first session and ask them how much they reimburse you if you choose to see an out-of-network licensed therapist. We will give you a bill for your sessions that will have all the necessary information an insurance company requires. You submit the statement/bill directly to your company. When the reimbursement check comes, it goes to you.

How long are therapy sessions?

Individual therapy sessions last 50 minutes – 1 hour, unless we decide more time is needed ahead of time. Family sessions are often 1.5 – 2 hours. Most clients attend therapy either once a week or once every other week, unless together we determine that more weekly sessions are necessary.

Do you offer virtual therapy?

Yes, we offer virtual services. Cost is based on our regular hourly fee.

Is my information kept confidential?

Yes, your information is kept in strictest confidence. We may not disclose any of it to anyone, unless you give your written permission. You can withdraw this permission at any time. There are some specific exceptions to this rule, which are as follows:

We will not disclose personal information to any other third parties except if made aware that a child has been, is currently, or potentially being harmed or if there is reason to believe that a client is a danger to themselves or others. In addition, if you are in litigation, there is a possibility that your therapy file may be subpoenaed.

Can you prescribe medication?

No, we are not medical doctors and are not qualified to prescribe medication. However,  after evaluating your situation, we will decide if you need to speak with a psychiatrist  and is allowed to prescribe medicine. If we decide that medication might be beneficial, we have some very competent psychiatrists that we work with that we can refer you to. It’s always a good idea for someone who is taking medication to have his or her therapist in contact with the doctor who is prescribing medicine. That way, you have a team working together on your behalf. Of course, this communication between psychologist and psychiatrist only happens if you give written permission.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you cannot make your scheduled appointment, please provide 24 hour advance notice. We understand the need to reschedule on occasion (due to illness or an emergency), however if you do not give 24 hour notice, you will be required to pay the cost of the session.

How do I get started?

Give us a call or email! You can go to the contact page on this website to do either. If you know that you want to get started, let’s schedule a session. We also offer a free 30 minute consultation to meet in person and decide if it’s a good fit.
