MEET DR. ATOIAN

Dr. Andre Atoian is the founder and medical director of Ketamine Specialists.  Board certified in both Anesthesiology and Addiction Medicine, Dr. Atoian believes that compassion and creativity backed by rigorous science is the path to patient centered care.  His interests in treating depression and pain began with his undergraduate career at the prestigious College of Creative Studies at University of California, Santa Barbara, where he studied neuropsychopharmacology and the interaction between depression and pain.  While at UCSB, Dr. Atoian received a National Science Foundation grant for his innovative approach to identifying novel pain medicines.

Dr. Atoian completed medical school at the Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and completed his residency training in Anesthesiology at the Keck School of Medicine at USC, where he was trained specifically on the use of ketamine infusions for depression and pain.  Recognizing that depression, pain, and addiction are strongly related,  Dr. Atoian pursued an additional board certification in addiction medicine.

Dr. Atoian understands that depression, pain, and addiction are all different sides of the same coin, but that at the center of it all is a person, not a condition.  He takes an integrative approach to whole-person care, and will work with your psychiatrist, psychologist, pain specialist, and general doctor to create a plan specific to your needs.

With nearly a decade of experience and thousands of patients successfully treated, Dr. Atoian’s unique background in psychopharmacology, anesthesiology, and addiction medicine gives him the skills and knowledge to safely and effectively treat depression and pain.
